Dr. Engel-Green (she/her/ella) joins the Anxiety and Behavioral Health Center (ABHC) as a psychology associate (Registration #A0940), practicing under the supervision of Dr. Brooks. In this role, she provides evidence-based therapy to children and adolescents, collaborating closely with parents, school teams, and multidisciplinary providers in treating childhood anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Engel-Green continues to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in psychology and is committed to ongoing professional development and excellence.
Dr. Engel-Green comes to ABHC with a strong background in school-community psychology, having earned a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in school-community psychology from Hofstra University, where she also earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in school psychology and a Master of Science with distinction in school-community psychology. In her continual pursuit of state-of-the art knowledge in her field of study, Dr. Engel-Green sought and obtained additional professional certifications in school psychology.
Previously, Dr. Engel-Green served as a school psychologist with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) for 12 years, where she was recognized as a nominee for Montgomery County School Psychologist Association School Psychologist of the Year during the 2022-23 school year. During her tenure at MCPS, Dr. Engel-Green worked with a wide range of populations, including students with various mental health and behavioral challenges, and students with diverse educational and socioeconomic needs. She conducted psychological assessments, developed comprehensive psychological reports, and consulted and collaborated with families and multidisciplinary school teams to support children's educational progress and social-emotional development through a trauma-informed lens. She has extensive knowledge in general education supports and services, as well as Section 504 and special education processes.
Dr. Engel-Green's professional journey also includes pre-doctoral roles at MercyFirst Residential Treatment Center (Syosset, NY), Great Neck Public Schools (Great Neck, NY), and the Institute for Family Forensic Psychology (Hofstra University; Hempstead, NY). Through all of these experiences, Dr. Engel-Green has gained extensive knowledge in counseling, social skills training, crisis intervention, and collaborative teamwork.
