Fees & Insurance

We do not participate in any insurance plans and are considered fee-for-service.  Many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits in which your insurance company will reimburse you for the fees paid for services.  We do provide the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance company in order to receive reimbursement for out-of-network services.  If you wish to use out-of-network benefits, it is recommended that you contact your insurance carrier directly prior to our first appointment to ask about out-of-network benefits and reimbursement. You can use the phone number that is on the back of your insurance card. Some helpful questions to ask include:

1. Do I have out-of-network (OON) mental health benefits; if so, what are they?
Typically OON benefits are quoted as a reimbursed percentage of provider fees. For example, you might be told that your company will cover 60% of an OON provider’s fees.

2. What is the usual and customary or allowable rate that the quoted percentage is based on for the following billing codes: 90791 (intake session), 90834 and 90837 (follow up individual sessions), 90846 and 90847 (follow up family sessions), and 90853 (group sessions)?
The percentage that you are quoted is based on an internal rate specific to your insurance company called the “usual and customary” or “allowable rate.” This allowable amount varies by insurance company and plan. This rate might be different than my fee, so you need to know it to calculate the reimbursement amount you can expect from your insurance provider. Insurance companies will not tell me what their usual and customary rate is; only clients have access to that information.

3. Do I have an out-of-network deductible? Has my annual deductible been met yet?

4. On what date will my annual deductible reset?

5. Is there an annual limit on the number of sessions allowed in a calendar year?

6. How do I submit receipts for reimbursement?


We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
